The Landmark Electronic Application Navigator™ (better known as LEAN) is designed to make your enrollment process faster, easier, and better! LEAN supports all Medicare Plans, including Medicare Supplement. LEAN is available as a website on a desktop or laptop. LEAN is also available as a mobile app for iOS and Android tablets. The mobile app allows you to take applications online or offline.
LEAN is available via a website or on mobile app, which can be used online or offline allowing agents the most accessibility for their enrollment process.
LEAN is a multifaceted enrollment tool. You may complete the Scope of Appointment, Enrollment, and Health Assessment in all plans (MA, MAPD, PDP, DSNP, CSNP) in either the online or offline mode. Medicare Supplement plans for all states can be completed online in the mobile app or on the website.
All applications entered via LEAN are stored in LEAN for 10 years. You can also print, or download, completed applications and Scope of Appointments as PDFs.
A streamlined provider search function is built into the online versions of LEAN. You can rapidly search, review, select, and then populate the chosen Primary Care Provider (PCP) right into the LEAN application.
Using the Companion Sales feature, LEAN will also allow you to populate a PDP application once you’ve finished a Medicare Supplement application or start a Medicare Supplement application once the PDP application is completed – a real time saver!
You asked and we listened! We recently added an applicant search feature that allows you to enter the consumer’s name, date of birth, and either their Medicare number or UnitedHealthcare ID number. LEAN will then search existing member data to pre-populate certain LEAN fields. Over 80% of applications taken in 2021 Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) utilized this feature.
We also recently added Voice Signature into LEAN to allow a remote experience for those without an email address.
The LEAN tool facilitates electronic enrollment through both online and offline submissions.
While online, you can take enrollment applications via website or mobile app (Apple or Android). You are able to complete applications, interact with our current provider data system, and capture signatures right on your device.
When offline, you can use the mobile app on your tablet to enter and store applications for all Medicare Plans, except AARP® Medicare Supplement Plans. After you meet with the consumer, connect to the internet and login to LEAN. All of the enrollment applications you have entered offline will be automatically submitted electronically. Agents are expected to login online at least once a day and verify submitted applications in the “My Applications” section of LEAN.
