2018 Savings benefit
Savings apply during the initial coverage period, which begins after the member payments the required deductible (if any) and ends when the total cost of the member’s drugs (paid by UnitedHealthcare, the member and others) reaches $3750.
Tier 5 medications (typically specialty drugs) have a 33% coinsurance on the AARP MedicareRx Preferred plan or 25% coinsurance on the AARP MedicareRx Saver Plus plan, AARP MedicareRx Walgreens plan, and Symphonix Value Rx plan no matter where the member chooses to fill the prescriptions.
Trademarks for drugs listed herein are owned by third parties with whom UnitedHealthcare® and OptumRx has no affiliation.
Members are not required to use the plan’s Preferred Mail Service Pharmacy to obtain a 90-day supply of their maintenance medications1, but they may pay more out-of-pocket compared to using the Preferred Mail Service Pharmacy. Your prescriptions should arrive in about seven days from the date the completed order is received by the Mail Service Pharmacy. Prescription orders sent directly to OptumRx from their doctor must have the member’s approval before OptumRx can send their medications. This includes new prescriptions and prescription refills. OptumRx will contact the member, by phone, to get their approval. At that time the member may also tell OptumRx to automatically fill any future prescriptions they receive directly from the member’s doctor(s) for up toone year. If OptumRx is unable to reach the member for approval their prescription will not be sent to them. Refunds may be available for prescriptions they did not approve and did not want. Members may request a refund or cancel or approval by calling OptumRx. Members may request a refund by calling 1-877-492-5843, 24 hours, 7 days a week. New prescriptions should arrive within ten business days from the date the completed order is received by the Mail Service Pharmacy. Completed refill orders should arrive in about seven business days. OptumRx will
contact the member if there will be an extended delay in the delivery of their medications.
OptumRx is an affiliate of UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company.
NOTE: If the member is receiving Extra Help from Medicare, their copays may be lower or may have no copayments.
