Agent compensation talking points
When enrolling consumers who are seeking coverage, it is important to provide honest and transparent information – this includes disclosing compensation that the agent and/or agency may earn as a result of the enrollment, per The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021.
All agents and brokers contracted to sell UnitedHealthcare Individual & Family plans are required to disclose the following information, prior to the consumer finalizing their plan selection:
Direct compensation (e.g., commissions) to be received in connection with the consumer’s enrollment in an Individual & Family Affordable Care Act (ACA) plan; and
Indirect compensation (e.g., bonus contests) that may be earned in connection with the consumer’s enrollment in an Individual & Family ACA plan
Updated talking points have been added to Jarvis for plan year 2026 (PY26). To review these recommended talking points and get more information about the requirement, including answers to frequently asked questions, go to Jarvis > Sales Tools > Agent Compensation Disclosure.
For additional details about compensation disclosure requirements, consult the IFP Agent Guide, Section 5: Enrollment. Go to Jarvis > Knowledge Center > Training & Guides and launch the Agent Guide.
