SEP Verification Issues (SVIs)
Consumers who enroll during a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) may be asked to resolve an SEP Verification Issue (SVI), meaning they will need to provide documentation to support their eligibility for enrolling during an SEP. In most cases, the consumer will need to submit documents to prove SEP eligibility within 30 days of selecting a plan in order to start using their coverage.
If your client has an SVI, you can help them submit the appropriate documentation via healthcare.gov or through an Enhanced Direct Enrollment (EDE) pathway.
Learn more about SVIs (and how they can be resolved) by reviewing resources from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) below.
